The BlackBerry Bold 9000 and the BlackBerry Storm 9530 are two amazing RIM devices that come packed with advanced features and capabilities. Interested in finding out which one is worth your attention, I decided to compare them. Look what I found out.

In terms of design, both smartphones look stylish because of their rounded corners and gorgeous displays. Placed side by side, the Bold 9000 is one mm taller and lighter than the Storm 9530 measuring 114 x 66 x 14mm and weighing 133 grams. Both devices offer nice screens, but of different sizes although they are both able to display crisp and sharp images. The Bold 9000 comes with a 2.6-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels and supports 65,000 colors. On the other hand, the Storm 9530 features a 3.25-inch touchscreen with a 360 x 480 pixel resolution which makes it the better option (between these two RIM devices) for many users.
When it comes to the hardware department, these two high end devices offer pretty powerful processors that provide a great user experience. So, on the Bold 9000 you will find a 624MHz processor with 128MB of RAM and 1GB of storage. The Storm 9530 is powered by a 528MHz processor with the same RAM and internal memory. You should also know that both smartphones can support microSD cards of up to 16GB which means extra space for storing your multimedia files. Regarding the operating systems, I need to mention that both BlackBerries run on BlackBerry OS 4, with the mention that the Bold 9900 runs on version 4.6 while the Storm 9530 runs on version 4.7. So, on both devices you will find text and multimedia messaging, BlackBerry Maps, document editor, voice memo/dial and organizer. In addition, both devices can sync with your company’s BlackBerry Enterprise Server and allow you to access up to 10 personal/business POP3 and IMAP4 email accounts.

On both devices you will find good cameras able to take decent pictures and record videos. On the Bold 9000 you will find a 2MP rear camera with LED flash, basic camera settings and autofocus while on the Storm 9530 you will find a 3.15MP rear camera with geo-tagging, LED flash and a few editing tools. Connectivity is well represented on both RIM smartphones by options like Bluetooth, A-GPS, HTML and 3G. The Bold 9000 can also support Wi-Fi which lacks on the Storm 9530. Another important feature of these two devices that needs to be taken into consideration is the battery life. So, you should know that these smartphones provide up to 5.3 hours of talk time. Overall, both are worth your attention, but my favorite is the Storm 9530.
