The BlackBerry Bold 9790 also known as the Onyx III is a great smartphone that looks pretty much like any other RIM device available on the market. When you first look at this smartphone you notice how slim and narrow it is, measuring 110 x 60 x 11.4mm and weighing 107 grams. In terms of design, the Bold 9790 catches your attention with the classic chrome band, sleek lines and a curved finish. On the front surface you can notice the 2.45-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels, the navigation array with an optical trackpad in the middle and the full QWERTY keyboard. Above the screen you will see the earpiece, a status LED and both the proximity and ambient light sensors. The keyboard is responsive allowing you to easily type messages and emails despite the restrictive location available for it.

On the bottom of the phone you will find the microUSB port while behind the battery cover you will see the microSD card slot. Under the hood, this smartphone hosts a 1GHz processor with 768MB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It runs on BlackBerry OS 7 which comes with attractive icons that remind of those available on the PlayBook tablet. The home screen hosts virtual buttons that allow you to access Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, the alarm clock and the settings menu.
