The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 is my first choice because of its stylish design. It’s pretty small, measuring 107 x 50 x 14.5mm and catches your attention with a 2.2-inch screen able to support 65,000 colors. Under the screen you will see the navigational array and the QWERTY keyboard, perfect for typing fast messages. This smartphone hosts a 312MHz processor with 64MB of storage and runs on BlackBerry OS. Being a great business device, the Pearl 8100 allows you to deliver real time emails and access IMAP4 and POP3 email accounts. You will also be able to use a document viewer, organizer, a spacious phone book and various messaging options. This BlackBerry offers support for Bluetooth 2.0, HTML, EDGE and GPRS.

You should also consider the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 which is about 0.5 mm thinner than the Pearl 8100 and features the same 2.2 inch TFT screen with a 240 x 260 pixel resolution. Under the hood, it hosts a 312MHz processor with 32MB of RAM. Moreover, it runs on the usual BlackBerry operating system. You will be able to take decent pictures with the 2MP camera which comes equipped with LED flash and video recording capabilities. You will also find on this smartphone a well equipped media player able to support popular file formats, document editor and voice memo/dial. The phone provides support for Bluetooth 2.0, A-GPS, HTML and 3G.

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 should also be on your list. Released in 2009, this smartphone measures 101 x 50 x 17.5mm and weighs around 102 grams. It offers an external screen able to support 65,000 colors and display date, time, battery level and caller ID and a 2.6-inch internal screen with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution which displays pretty crisp and sharp images. BlackBerry OS is available on this RIM device along with a decent 2MP camera equipped with LED flash and video recording capabilities. BlackBerry Maps, organizer, voice memo/dial/commands, text and multimedia messaging and predictive text input are only a few of the features available on this smartphone. Regarding connectivity, the Pearl 8230 can support only Bluetooth 2.0, HTML and 3G. The 900mAh battery guarantees 3.3 hours of talk time.

Don’t forget about the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 and the Pearl 3G 9105.
