Iphone 4 Activation

After you buy an iPhone 4, you have to take care of its activation in order to be able to use it on a daily basis. The process is not complicated, but involves following a few specific steps.

The first thing you need to do after you buy an iPhone 4 is make sure that the version of iTunes installed on your computer is current. Afterwards, you should turn on your device by holding down for a few seconds the sleep/power button that is made available on top of the smartphone, in the right corner. Once the screen lights up, you will notice a slider that you have to swipe to the right in order to be able to go through the steps involved by your iPhone’s activation.

You will see that after the display lights up, the first thing you are required to do is set language and location. After you select the language of your choice, you will have to tap the “Next” button that’s displayed near the top of the screen, in the right corner. You will then have to deal with the box that allows you to select the country in which you will be using the device and tap “Next”. Afterwords, you'll be required to choose if you want to turn on Location Services that are made available by the iPhone’s GPS feature.

My recommendation is to turn on this functionality because you will be able to use it for a wide variety of purposes including for getting driving directions and locating public places such as restaurants. Another feature that you will be required to activate refers to the Wi-Fi capabilities of the iPhone 4. If you have a wireless network that you use often, you should select it and enter the password that protects it, because by doing that you make sure the iPhone will automatically connect to that network every time it detects it. However, at any later time, you can add any other wireless network you are interested in using.

 After you tap on “Next” you will discover the next window that requires you to choose how you want to set up the iPhone: as new iPhone, by restoring it from iCloud backup or by restoring it from iTunes backup. If you don’t have any backup available, you will simply have to select the first option. Otherwise, you will have to follow the steps involved by making available on the new iPhone 4 one of the backups available.

You will also have to create an Apple ID (if you don’t have one) and agree to some terms and conditions.
